Characteristics of An Entrepreneur
Starting a business is a risky affair for everyone that is involved. Opening a new business is always a little tricky and is not without a lot of financial risks. The biggest financial risk is the one that is taken when there is a possibility that the business will fail. The person, or people, who are putting the money in to the opening of the business take the risk of losing that money completely. Taking on that responsibility is a big step and is one only for a person with the characteristics of an entrepreneur.
The characteristics of an entrepreneur are varied. However, the most important of these characteristics is persistence. Being unwilling to give up is very important. An entrepreneur believes that giving up on your dreams and aspirations is when you fail. Do not be afraid to put your reputation on the line. It is your reputation that will get you through. However, the first thing you need to do is believe in yourself and your ideas. Do not second guess yourself. If you believe in your idea enough, you can sell it. Entrepreneurs are characteristically optimistic people who think toward the future and believe deeply that success is just around the next corner. Remember, you are only as successful as your next idea.
Being flexible is one of the primary characteristics of an entrepreneur. The ability and willingness to change their point of view under pressure, or when new information comes in is very important for an entrepreneur. A good entrepreneur is also fast moving and quick thinking. This is also important as it is a necessity to be able to move around the obstacles as they come and think of solutions for the problems when they occur. They are very persistent and want to succeed, no matter what the cost. Their reputation, as well as their money is on the line, so failure is not an option.
The characteristics of an entrepreneur do not include greed. An entrepreneur is concerned more about bringing their dream to life then they are the amount of money they will bring in. It is also very important to an entrepreneur to succeed. Being successful is a very important goal for everyone, but for an entrepreneur, the success is directly depending on how the entrepreneur handles the changes that come with the business. If they do not handle the business well, they risk failure. If they handle the business correctly, they will succeed greatly. Being highly motivated to succeed keeps an entrepreneur working hard to sell their ideas.
Becoming an entrepreneur starts with having an income that you want to invest in something that means a lot to you. Find that thing that you love to do and turn it into a profitable business. Whether it is crafts or cars, make what you love to do work for you. Taking the advice of successful entrepreneurs is also a good idea. There is a reason that these people have become successful. Just remember your goals and make them a reality.

Hello,
I recently wrote my thesis on sports entrepreneurship. After interviewing and researching a bunch of entrepreneurs, I developed a list of traits that I believed were evident in entrepreneurs in the sports industry–and also apply to “non-sports entrepreneurs”. I posted the list in my blog and would love to hear what you think.
Thanks
